Whit’s Story
Whit Nelson was an avid outdoor enthusiast who loved fishing, hunting, boating, and four wheeling. He had such a zest for life and so much energy and love to share. Somehow his light started to slowly flicker. No one knew his earthly flame would be extinguished by Whit on 3/31/21. He hid his pain from us all. Mental struggles are a sign we have feelings and emotions and that we are humans! Mental struggles are real and it is ok to admit that. It is not a sign of weakness. We want to bring awareness to everyone and offer ways to help.
As always we are keeping all of our proceeds local in the Lowcountry. We have chosen 2 organizations to support. We are continuing our support to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Charleston. Whit and his father’s love for fly fishing led Carter to get involved with this charity in the past. It is a program dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. We know Whit always believed in our military and knew the joy that fly fishing can bring.
